The origin of the names for foot types lies in ancient civilizations, who believed that a person's nationality could be determined by their shape. There are three types of feet, the main difference being the length of their toes , but let's take a closer look.

Egyptian foot

This is the most common form; in fact, it's estimated that 70% of people have it. It's characterized by a longer thumb, while the rest gradually decrease in size, with the pinky finger being the shortest.
The Egyptian foot tends to develop bunions, as the body's weight falls on the big toe and metatarsal bone. To prevent them, it's best to choose shoes with a round toe, so there's room for the toes.

Greek foot

Also known as the Morton type, it is easily recognizable because the second toe is longer than the rest and can be rectangular or tapered. In the rectangular type, the third through fifth toes are all the same size; however, in the tapered type, these toes slope downward, like the Egyptian foot.
These types of feet are affected by various injuries, chafing, and what is known as hammer toes, which are joint contractions. For this, low-heeled shoes and flip-flops like Surippa 's are recommended .

Roman foot

Also known as square feet, this type is only found in 10% of the population. This foot shape has the first three toes of the same length, and the rest are much shorter.
People with Roman feet don't usually have problems because the weight is distributed more evenly, although the most suitable shoes are round or square-toed.
